Happy Friday lovely readers. The Coast to Coast Street Style Series is back, and this time we’re thrilled to collaborate with one of our favorite brands: Free People! Johnnalynn, Jessica and I took on the challenge of styling our favorite maxi dresses with an ethereal theme in mind. Inspired by this theme, I immediately darted towards this gorgeous crochet dress. Everything about it exudes ethereal and romance to me. I absolutely love the crochet around the midriff area. It definitely adds a hint of sexiness but in a sweet and classy way.

We shot this look at two locations because, well I’ll let the picture below lead you into the story, hehe.

Apparently our presence confused the duckies in the lake. They thought we were going to feed them so they came up from the bottom of the lake and started to follow us as we were taking photos. Two of them wanted to make a cameo, so I took a seat on the rail and snapped a photo with them.

As this went on, and honestly it was no more than 15 minutes, more and more duckies were coming up from the lake and followed us. They had these sad puppy eyes, eventually we couldn’t bear it anymore so we decided to head home to finish the shoot. The sun was just setting by that time  which made the photos so ethereal looking.

Walking on Clouds in Silver Ballet Flats

In my single days I used to love dressing up for girls night out and wear the cutest and tallest shoes in my closet. It never occurred to me the price I would pay for fashion until I started walking for a block or two, and then my feet started to cramp. In times like this I wish I had a pair of flip flops with me. Since I wore small handbags it wasn’t really possible to cram in a pair of flip flops without looking ridiculous. I considered flats but I couldn’t find any that fit me. With no other viable options, I resorted to either walking barefoot or awkwardly carrying around my flip flops, hiding them under the table as soon as I got into a restaurant or bar.

A few weeks ago I was introduced to a brand of portable ballet flats called “Fit in Clouds” and I instantly had a eureka moment. If only I had these flats back then! They’re comfy, sturdy and adorable. From studs to sequins to satin and bows, these flats come in a variety of designs that are chic and charming. The soles are separated into two parts which make them foldable for easy storage. They’re compact enough to fit in a small purse. These ballet flats come in 3 sizes (S,M and L). I’m wearing size small obviously. =)

For this shoot, I’m pairing the studded silver ballet flats with a burgundy slit maxi skirt and white crop top. I have this skirt for a while now but I couldn’t find the right pairing for it until I saw these top and ballet flats. I had to go on tippie toe so the skirt wouldn’t drag on the ground. I normally wear heels with an outfit like this, but these flats are so cute they’re totally worth it.

Happy Monday everyone! I have been working on a fun project recently, and I am super excited to unveil it to you all today. Two fabulous bloggers (Atlanta based Johnnalynn of Stushi Gal Style and New York based Jess of Dressed by Jess) and I are teaming up to share our favorite trends in our “Coast to Coast Street Style” series. To kick off the series, we’ve partnered up with Deb Shops to showcase our Fourth of July “All American Girls” styles. Deb Shops was kind enough to gift us our outfits as well as sponsoring an amazing $75 Shopping Spree Giveaway for our fabulous readers. Yaaaay! Keep reading for deets.

When I found out the theme for this edition, I knew these white short overalls and plaid tied top would make a fabulous outfit. It’s a stylish and playful look, perfect for the Fourth of July. To capture the excitement and energy of the holiday, Luis and I decided to shoot on the Santa Cruz Boardwalk, one of Northern California’s iconic attractions. As always, the kid in me is brought out when I am here. In between shoots, we went on rides and ate cotton candy. LOL!

This giveaway starts Monday June 30. To enter, please fill out the Rafflecopter form below. It’s easy peasy! You must be at least 18+ to enter and be a U.S resident.
