Hello beauties, it’s glam time! I just realized it has been awhile since my last beauty post, and now that the holidays are here, the timing couldn’t have been more perfect to share this post with you. As a member of Glam Beauty Board, I received a super cute Erickson Beamon x Le Sportsac Cosmetic Case (aka glam bag!) filled with a bevy of awesome beauty products. This bag is so cute! While I adore all of the products (there were lots!), I wanted to share with you my favorites. So here we go…drum roll please!

Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream
I have been using this product nightly for the last couple of weeks and I do notice a slight difference in how my skin feels. Because I’m taking a lot prenatal vitamins right now which already has a positive effect on my complexion, this product seems to enhance the effect. My skin feels less dry during the day and I find myself not having to moisturize my face in the morning.

Clinique Long Last Soft Matte Lipstick
Rich, creamy and has a great scent! I’ve been riding the matte lipstick wave for awhile now, so I was pretty stoked this product came with the glam bag. Clinique rarely fails me and this product rocks. I’m actually wearing the lipstick in this post. It’s long wearing and isn’t dry. Love it!

Rita Hazan Weekly Remedy
Ever since I had a balayage last month, my hair has been in need of some serious therapy. I have been using the duo treatment for two weeks now, and I do notice a difference. My processed hair feels a lot of smoother and shiner when used. The formula is quite potent so I don’t suggest using a lot to get results.

Eyeko Me & My Shadow Waterproof Shadow Liner
Love this a waterproof shadow. It’s a primer, liner and blending brush all in one! It’s very long lasting and color is very rich and easy to blend. I’ve only used it a couple times since I prefer a darker shade, but it’s really pretty.

L’Occitane Shea Whipped Body Cream
I have only used this products on my hands and baby belly, and I like it. It’s light, goes on smooth without feeling oily and greasy and has a clean scent.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics’ Unknown Pleasures Nail Lacquer
I received two colors: deep beige and royal blue. I am in love the royal blue shade. It’s so bold and is the perfect shade for the holidays.

Charles Worthington Volume & Bounce Thicken & Full 3D Boosting Creme
I’m a fan any of product that makes my limp straight look and feel voluminous. I have only used this product once for this shoot, but so far I like it! I used it in combination of blowing drying with a hot brush.

Demeter Fragrances: Pistachio Ice Cream
I don’t wear fragrances normally but this has a nice scent. It’s light, fresh and sweet. Just like its name!

Get Ready With Me

We usually stay in on the weekends to catch up on errands or watch a movie, but this past Saturday Luis & I decided to hit the town for a fun date night. I normally wear something casual and comfy, but tonight I was in the mood for an LPD (Little Pink Dress). I found this dress stashed in the back of my closet and realized I hadn’t worn it since I bought it (maybe 4 years ago).

When getting ready one of the tasks I enjoy the least is drying my hair. As you can tell I have a lot of hair and it usually takes about 20 minutes to dry it all. That’s how long it takes for me to do my hair and makeup.  Over the years I’ve tried many different dryers from drugstore to designer brands but none noticeably reduced the amount of time it took to dry my hair. Recently I was given the ghd Air dryer to try and I was blown away. It takes just 5-6 minutes to dry my hair. It’s such a time saver.

My favorite part of the makeup routine is applying blush. I love Sonia Kashuk® blushes. They’re so pigmented and lasting. A little goes a long way for sure.

I love beach waves. There is something very untamed and sexy about the beach wave look, and it is actually quite easy to create. While getting ready to go out today, I decided to do quick tutorial on how to create pretty beach waves in 10 minutes flat.

I normally wash my hair in the morning, but I will keep my hair unwashed to give it a slight dry texture perfect for the beach wave look. Since I want to add volume, I will start this tutorial by using Pantene Pro-V Dry Shampoo to remove all the excess oil. I absolutely love this product. It’s such an inexpensive way to quickly clean your hair and give it nice Oooomph!

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

Dry Shampoo
Curling Iron with 1.5 inch barrel

STEP 1

Part your hair into sections, hold the dry shampoo about 3-4 inches away from the scalp and spray. Each time you spray, use your hands to scrunch and work the dry shampoo into your hair and scalp. As most dry shampoos leave a white residue (this one does), make sure to brush it off. The closer the dry shampoo is to the scalp, the more visible the residue is, so keep a safe distance!

STEP 2

Part your hair into two or three sections using a ponytail holder or anything equivalent. I find it’s faster to curl your hair in layers and the curls hold longer too. Starting with the base layer, section your hair into one-inch sections and curl each section twice. Curl the tip to the middle first and then the middle to the root. Doing this will give your hair equal heat coverage from tip to root.

STEP 3

Repeat the same process in Step 2 with the remaining top sections. This time, however, make sure you hold the curling iron 5 seconds longer when you curl from the middle to root sections. This will give your hair that extra lift and volume at the roots.

STEP 4

And while you may want your hair to have even waves, it’s okay if they are not even. In fact, it looks more natural if they are not all the same size. To add definition and variety to your waves, randomly take some stands and curl it all the way. If you want it extra tight, hold the curling iron longer. If you want it more loose, release it after 2 seconds. Repeat this process until you’re happy with the results.
