Gap Holiday Style Part 1

Hello beauties! I’m so excited to share with you my collaboration with Gap today. Throughout this holiday season, I will be doing a mini series featuring some of my favorite winter styles from Gap. I can’t believe winter is already around corner and Thanksgiving is just a few days away!

First up in our mini series is the style I adore and have been waiting to wear for so long – the car coat. What’s a car coat you may ask! It’s a style of coats that are slightly oversized and come just a tad above the knee. Sometimes an oversized coat feel overwhelming, but when paired with the right items it can create a very flattering silhouette. Since I’m 21 weeks along, I opted for a more relaxed style with a loose turtle neck sweater. I love how the sweater hits my legs at the right length for a mini dress. To complete the look, I’m wearing knee high boots and a mustard yellow satchel to add a pop of color. If you like this style, here are some other fab ways to wear a car coat.

Here’s another winter staple that goes well with the car coat. Generally, for leggings I try to wear a color that is either lighter or darker than the coat. This breaks up the colors and makes the outfit look more interesting. A cute sweater or oversized shirt and a pair of mary jane would be so cute with this combo.

Any skirt that’s not a flowy maxi skirt will look great with the car coat. Since there is a lot of volume from the coat, I prefer something fitted such as a pencil skirt (mini or midi length),  because it streamlines the look and makes you appear taller. Unless you’re going for pure comfort, steer way from the maxi skirt.

For a cool and relaxed vibe, I’d would pair the boyfriend jeans with a loose dress shirt semi tucked in or oversized sweater and heels. While boots are the obvious choice for winter styles, I prefer wearing medium to high heels with boyfriend jeans. They frame the outfit better and are sexier with boyfriend jeans.
